New for 2026, Rose Cottage is now a dog-friendly holiday cottage.
As always here at Lakes For All we have listened to our guests. We realise many of you have a four-legged friend you wish to travel with you. We have been working behind the scenes to ensure that your furry friend can expect the same luxury touches as you. We have items available such as doggy accessories and towels to clean up after muddy walks in the Lake District. Below we have put together some FAQ’s to help you know what to expect.
Dog Friendly Accommodation FAQs
We can accommodate one well behaved dog which must be booked in advance. This way we can ensure we have all the doggy touches ready for your arrival.
Yes, we charge an additional fee of £150 per stay. This cost allows us to provide a high level of service for all our guests throughout the year.
We want your dog to feel at home at Rose Cottage just as much as you. We provide all our furry visitors with:
• A welcome treat
• Food and water bowls
• A cosy blanket and dog bed
• A cooling mat for those warmer days
• A pooch towel and toiletries for a luxury rubdown after a day exploring Cumbria
• Dog toys to enjoy in our enclosed rear garden
• Dog accessories including a spare lead, poo bags and ID tag with Rose Cottages address for while you stay with us
• A calming plug-in to help ease the stress of staying somewhere new
We ask that you please do not leave your pet unsupervised in the property and that furniture remains for humans only.
Owners are responsible for their pet including any cleaning or damages that may occur.
We ask that you please ensure you dog is house trained, past the puppy teething stage and up to date with their flea treatments to ensure that everyone can enjoy Rose Cottage.
We ask that your furry friend follows the same noise expectations as all our guests with no late night parties or barking the night away
Rose Cottage has an enclosed garden overlooking the tranquil woodlands perfect for dogs to enjoy being off the lead. You will also find some fantastic accessible dog walks nearby at Lowther Castle or along Ullswater.
Here in the Lakes we know that many people visit with their four legged friends. Many of the attractions, pubs and restaurants are dog friendly. However, we always recommend checking the websites or giving a call ahead just to make sure.
Yes, of course. We pride ourselves on our high cleaning standards. We undertake a deep clean following every pet stay so that everyone can enjoy Rose Cottage.
